No shocks this week – and an enthralling Superbowl in prospect.
So what happened last week?
Predictions were 2-0 (going by the head)
Titans 24 Chiefs 35
Chiefs strangled the life out of the Titans – no real worries even when they got behind. Titans had a good run at it – but Mahomes is definitely the elite QB!
Packers 20 49ers 37
Once again certain key moments defined the game. Packers had no answer to the 49ers running game, and their D constantly pressured Rodgers. Having said that, without the infamous centre fumble it could have been different. If it had been at Lambeau it would definitely have been different.
49ers v Chiefs
Chiefs by 14
If the Chiefs stop the 49ers running game (as they did with rushing leader Derrick Henry) the 49ers will have to rely on Garoppolo which won’t be good (despite his 4th quarter ratings).
Chiefs will have a game plan for Mostert and whoever else lines up in the backfield so it will go to Garoppolo’s arm. Hevaily reliant on George Kittle, if Jimmy G has a good day it will be close. If he has an average day the Chiefs win comfortably, if he has a bad day it will be a blowout.
Chiefs can pass or run, and Mahomes will prove himself to be elite. Expect Damien Williams to get a lot of 1st quarter action as the Chiefs establish a game plan, and a lot of 4th quarter action as they close out the win.
One note of caution, if the Chiefs get down big early it won’t be so easy to come back.
Well I predicted the Chiefs early on – I never really factored in the 49ers, and that is why I am going Chiefs all the way.
